Smile South Sudan (SSS) is an independent National Non-Government and non-profit Organization (NNGO) registered with the Relief & Rehabilitation Commission (RRC) of the government of South Sudan based in Juba.  SSS’s prime motto is service delivery to the most vulnerable people/groups/communities of South Sudan to give them the SMILE humanity deserves.

In February 2020 a group of educated, dynamic and like-minded Professionals working in the development sector, got together to establish an organization, for addressing the most urgent and pressing needs of the people of South Sudan. True to this spirit the organization was named Smile South Sudan (SSS) with word smile bearing its literal meaning.

Considering their association with the development sector through various INGOs, the group was cognizant of the plethora of problems plaguing South Sudan.   Consequently, the organization’s focus was not kept limited either in in terms of geography or sector. Whilst planning to operate in different States of the Country, SSS plans to carry a range of interventions in the areas of education, health & hygiene, youth & women empowerment, emergency response & preparedness, food security, WASH, Protection etc.

The type of activities which will be undertaken by the organization will mainly range from capacity building to service delivery, with focus remaining on the most vulnerable segments of the different societies of South Sudan. Whereas in terms of operations what characterizes SSS’s functioning are its efforts to

  1. Enlist involvement of the locals when initiating activities at the grass root level; and
  2. Mobilize women for bringing peace, tolerance, and development in society.

Although SSS is a new entry into the development arena, SSS owing to the interest of its founding members (the Directors) will contribute own resources and also lobby with national & international funding agencies to realize its objectives.
